A new wildland fire has broken out deep in the Gros Ventre Wilderness as of Tuesday afternoon, according to Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF). The Kinky Creek Fire, located about 3 miles south of Darwin Ranch, near upper Gros Ventre Falls, has high spread potential, per BTNF.
Fire danger in the Teton County region was elevated to high as of June 18. Teton Interagency Fire crews are responding to the fire, with a type 3 helicopter on the scene and two type 1 helicopters, smokejumpers, fire crews, and additional resources ordered.
