Kentucky drivers will face a new law when students return to class, requiring them to stop for any school or church bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended on all roadways.
New Law Aims to Keep Children Safe
Previously, drivers were only required to stop on two-lane roads. The only exception to the new law is that motorists are not required to stop on roadways with four or more lanes if the lanes are separated by a raised barrier or an unpaved median.
Drivers are urged to be aware of the changes before the start of the school year and to slow down when approaching school bus stops.
