Keller Residents Oppose Data Center Near Homes

Keller residents are speaking out against a proposed data center in Westlake, which would be located just 506 feet from nearby homes. The Circle T Data Center would occupy approximately 87.96 acres near U.S. Highway 377 and Westport Parkway in Westlake, with about 3.83 million square feet of development, including 1.1 million square feet of data center buildings.

Concerns Over Noise and Property Values

Residents are concerned about the potential impact on their quality of life, including noise and decreased property values. “We are really the ground zero neighborhood or one street neighborhood for this data center,” said Keller resident Kevin Myers. “The city of Westlake says it’s going to be 506 feet from our back property line.”

Westlake officials claim that the project was discussed publicly over a year ago and that Keller leadership expressed support for the project at the time. However, former Keller Mayor Armin Mizani disputed this, stating that the approval process “begins and ends with the Town of Westlake under its own laws, processes, and standards.”

Westlake’s Response

Westlake has launched an informational webpage outlining the project’s benefits, including approximately $5 million in annual tax revenue for the first decade and about $7 million per year thereafter. The town also claims that the facility will operate without water roughly 85% of the year and will include water recycling systems to reduce peak demand.
