The University of Kansas released the full 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule on Thursday, giving fans a clear view of the Jayhawks’ road ahead in the Big 12 and beyond. The conference slate consists of 18 games, beginning with a home opener on Jan. 2 against West Virginia at Allen Fieldhouse.
Big 12 conference play
Kansas will host and travel to each of its five fellow Big 12 opponents – Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State, Colorado, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, UCF and Texas Tech – for a total of 18 games. Notable dates include:
- Feb. 13 – a road game at Iowa State in Ames.
- Mar. 1 – the traditional “Big Monday” home game against Iowa State, a matchup in which Bill Self is 41‑0 at Allen Fieldhouse.
- Feb. 1 – a Big Monday trip to Houston.
- Jan. 23 – the first Sunflower Showdown against Kansas State in Manhattan.
- Feb. 27 – a home game against Kansas State.
- Feb. 6 – Texas Tech visits Lawrence.
- Feb. 20 – the lone meeting with reigning Big 12 champion Arizona.
The remaining conference opponents – Colorado, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, UCF and Texas Tech – will also make stops at Allen Fieldhouse throughout the season.
Non‑conference highlights
Kansas’ non‑conference schedule, announced June 2, features several marquee events. The Jayhawks will travel to the Champions Classic on Nov. 10 to face Kentucky, then host Missouri in Kansas City on Dec. 6 before heading to UConn for a Dec. 12 matchup. The team will also compete in the Players ERA 8 tournament in Las Vegas from Nov. 17‑19, opening against UNLV.
Exhibition games
Before the regular season tip‑off on Nov. 2 against Fordham, Kansas will host three exhibition contests:
- Oct. 16 – Pittsburg State, part of the “Late Night in the Phog” series.
- Oct. 21 – Flory Bidunga and Louisville.
- Oct. 25 – Duke Blue Devils.
All exhibition games will be played at Allen Fieldhouse, giving local fans an early look at the roster.
