Junior League of Montgomery to Host Free College and Career Fair for Local Seniors

The Junior League of Montgomery is preparing to welcome area high‑school juniors and seniors to its annual College and Career Fair. The free, family‑friendly event will be held on Monday, September 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.

What students can expect

Attendees will have the chance to meet representatives from a wide range of colleges, universities, trade schools, and local employers. Booths will provide information on admission requirements, financial aid options, and scholarship opportunities. Career counselors will be on hand to discuss vocational pathways, apprenticeship programs, and emerging job markets in Alabama.

Community partnership and support

Junior League President Amerika Blair emphasized the organization’s commitment to empowering young people and strengthening families through education. “Our goal is to give every student the tools they need to make informed decisions about their future,” Blair said. The fair is part of the League’s broader mission to support traditional families and promote individual liberty by providing honest, accessible information.

Action 8’s Estee Morrison sat down with Blair for an interview that highlights the fair’s purpose and offers tips for students preparing their college applications. The interview can be viewed on the Action 8 website.

How to attend

The event is open to all Montgomery County high‑school juniors and seniors at no cost. Parents and guardians are encouraged to accompany their children. Parking is available at the Cramton Bowl lot, and the venue is wheelchair‑accessible.

Why the fair matters

In a state where college enrollment rates have shown modest growth, community‑driven initiatives like this fair play a vital role in bridging the information gap. By bringing together educators, employers, and families under one roof, the Junior League helps ensure that students from all backgrounds have a clear path to higher education and rewarding careers.

Local faith leaders have praised the event for its focus on family values and personal responsibility. Pastor John Whitaker of First Baptist Montgomery noted, “Providing our youth with knowledge and opportunity aligns with the biblical principle of stewardship—preparing the next generation to be diligent and productive members of society.”

The College and Career Fair reflects Montgomery’s ongoing commitment to fostering a thriving, educated community rooted in faith, family, and freedom.
