CASPER, WY — After years of designing, crafting and testing products across North America, Chelsea Heil has brought her creative empire under one roof. Jungle Kitty opened its doors today at 120 W. 1st St., offering a range of handmade skincare, clothing, jewelry and refinished furniture.
From Skincare Roots to a Full‑Service Store
Heil first launched Jungle Kitty as a skin‑ and hair‑care line, motivated by personal frustration with expensive, chemical‑laden products. “I started using coconut oil as a moisturizer and began experimenting with oil blends for eczema, acne and sun protection,” she explained. After testing each formula on herself, family and friends, she began selling the products online.
Demand for men’s products led to a second line, Swamp Daddy Naturals, which Heil says was born when “men were stealing their wives’ and girlfriends’ products and asking for more manly scents.”
Handcrafted Jewelry and Colorful Clothing
While living in Mexico, Heil learned jewelry making from a friend in Guadalajara. The store now carries pieces crafted from arrowheads, opals and sculpted metal, each assembled by Heil herself. Her clothing collection, inspired by the vibrant streets of Mexico, is sewn from fabrics purchased there and finished by a Mexican seamstress. Future collections will be designed and sewn locally in Casper.
Artistic Furniture with a Personal Touch
Heil’s third passion is refinishing furniture. In the shop she is currently restoring a side table with whimsical flower knobs, and already offers pieces such as a table with inlaid flowers imported from Ukraine, a lemon‑patterned lazy Susan and an antique milking stool turned into a statement piece. “I have a real artistic vibe on the furniture,” she said, noting that the designs are not for those seeking plain basics.
Affordability and Community Focus
Affordability is a core value for Jungle Kitty. “Money is necessary, but I want healthy skin and hair to be within reach for everyone,” Heil said. She emphasized that prices will remain accessible, reflecting her belief that everyone deserves quality care.
Heil also stressed that Jungle Kitty will never mass‑produce items. “Artistry is something I really admire and I want to keep alive,” she said, promising that new creations will appear regularly as pieces sell.
Store Hours and Local Impact
Jungle Kitty welcomes shoppers Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The opening adds a unique, family‑friendly retail option to downtown Casper, supporting local artisans and offering residents a one‑stop shop for handcrafted goods.
Heil’s vision blends creativity, affordability and community spirit, aiming to enrich Casper’s downtown corridor while providing high‑quality, handmade products made with care.
