Joy Behar Takes Brief Hiatus from ‘The View’ for European Play

Joy Behar, a long-time co-host of ABC’s ‘The View,’ announced she will be taking a brief hiatus from the show. During a recent episode of the ‘Behind the Table’ podcast, Behar revealed her plans to travel to Europe to perform her play, ‘My First Ex-Husband,’ in both London and Paris.

European Tour for Behar

Behar shared that she will first fly to Paris and then travel to London, where she will spend two weeks performing at the Boulevard Theatre in the West End. The play features Behar and Jackie Hoffman as two American women, alongside two British actresses. Behar expressed excitement about the opportunity to perform abroad.

Temporary Changes on ‘The View’

In Behar’s absence, several fill-in hosts will step in. Sheryl Underwood, who previously filled in during co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin’s maternity leave, will return. Additionally, left-wing podcast host Kara Swisher and Ana Navarro, who typically co-hosts on Mondays and Fridays, will also fill in. Whoopi Goldberg, who usually takes Fridays off, will appear on the show on Fridays while Behar is away.

Behar does not typically co-host ‘The View’ on Mondays, so her absence will primarily affect the rest of the week. The show’s producer, Brian Teta, confirmed these temporary changes during the podcast.
