A Jonesboro man, Jeremiah Jones, faces four counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member, resisting arrest, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Jones allegedly rammed an occupied vehicle in a parking lot on East Highland Drive before being apprehended by police.

According to the affidavit, Jones became suspicious that a person with whom he was romantically involved was cheating, leading him to intentionally ram that person’s occupied vehicle, which contained a child. Jones then parked his vehicle beneath a carport at a residence and refused to follow police commands, yelling ‘Just shoot me’ and obscenities.
Officers reported that Jones asked an older child to bring him a baby, which he then held against his chest, positioning the child between himself and the officers who had their weapons drawn. Jones resisted arrest and attempted to hold onto the baby during the struggle, placing the child at risk of serious injury.
Jones was eventually arrested, and no injuries were reported. He appeared before Circuit Judge Tommy Fowler, who set his bond at $150,000 cash or surety and issued a no-contact order.
