Geno Smith, the New York Jets quarterback, was pulled over by a Davie Police Department officer on July 6 for speeding in a 45 mph zone. Smith was driving a 2025 Aston Martin and was clocked at 70 miles per hour.
The officer complimented Smith on his vehicle before issuing him two tickets, one for not having his license present and the other for unlawful speed. Smith told the officer that his license and registration were at his house, which is located nearby.
Previous Encounters
This is not Smith’s first encounter with the Davie police this offseason. In April, he was stopped for driving a Rolls-Royce with improper tags, and in June, a woman claimed on Instagram that Smith had physically abused her. However, no arrests were made in the latter incident, and the investigation has since been closed.
Smith is preparing for his 13th season in the NFL and his fifth with the Jets. He has been working to revitalize his career after a tumultuous start with the team.
