Jane Seymour, 75, still feels young at heart, and she has some simple tips for others who want to live a healthy, balanced life. The “Harry Wild” star stopped by Studio 1A on June 10 to chat about Season 5 of the series with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones.
Simple Lifestyle Choices
Seymour, who shows no signs of slowing down in her 70s, told the TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle co-hosts that she never “in a million years” imagined her life would be so vibrant at 75 years old. “I can’t even believe I am 75. Inside, I think I’m a teenager. I’ve never been happier. I’ve never had more energy. And I’m just living my best life right now,” she said.
Jenna couldn’t help but point out that Seymour looks “incredible.” “Do you have a secret for us? Is there a secret?” she asked. “Yeah, I don’t do any of it. … I never diet. I’ve always eaten like Mediterranean type stuff. I have, you know, a little wine, not as much as (in the show) ‘Harry Wilde,’ and I exercise when I can, and I just take care of my scalp, my skin, hair, whatever,” Seymour replied.
She went on to explain why she believes mental health plays an important role in aging gracefully. “I think mostly it’s from the inside. I think if you have a purpose in life and you’re doing things to help other people, (it helps),” she said, pointing to her work with her Open Hearts Foundation.
Seymour called happiness “everything” and said it helps when you “do what you love,” like she does. While speaking with Jenna and Sheinelle, Seymour also addressed rumors that she recently got engaged to her beau, John Zambetti. The actor showed off her beautiful “moi et toi” style ring and described the meaning of the design.
“What I really love is it has little diamonds here going towards the main one. Instead of a solitaire, I’m not alone. We’re together. And we had a life before,” she said. Seymour then offered a coy response to the rumors. “All I can say to the answer is I have never been happier in my life, and I’m absolutely committed to this happiness forever. What is that called?”
“That’s called true love,” Jenna replied. Sheinelle then addressed Zambetti, who was standing on the sidelines watching the interview. “Was that not the most beautiful thing that she just said?” she asked. He agreed, adding, “She says beautiful things all the time.”
