Jack Osbourne is defending his choice to attend the UFC fight at the White House over the weekend, saying that some critical comments he’s gotten have been “completely insane”.
Osbourne’s Response
Osbourne shared a video on his YouTube channel to discuss backlash he’s received, and shared several examples of social media comments that expressed disappointment.
“I went to a sporting event. That’s it,” he clarified. “I didn’t go and throw my hat in the ring for political office. I wasn’t there going to endorse a politician or some kind of foreign affairs issue. Nothing. I literally went to the White House to go see UFC.”
Osbourne explained that he’s been interested in combat sports his entire life, including doing taekwondo at 6 years old, studying Muay Thai in Thailand in his late teens and early twenties, and doing jiu-jitsu in his 30s.
He called the backlash “ridiculous,” stressing it was “not a political event — or in my eyes it was not. It was a fight at the White House. Who gives a care?”
Osbourne also addressed fans who said that his father, the late Ozzy Osbourne, would disapprove of his attendance. “You did not know my father. You did not know where he stood with things,” Osbourne said.
