French tennis player Corentin Moutet was fined $40,000 for using profane language during a post-match interview at the HSBC Championships in London.

Incident Details

Moutet’s outburst occurred after his first-round win, and the ATP has deemed it unsportsmanlike conduct. The player has confirmed that he will appeal the fine in accordance with ATP rules.

Moutet’s run at the Queen’s Club in London ended with a straight-sets loss to Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Despite the fine, Moutet will take home roughly $23,000 from the tournament.
