Iran Deal Sparks Concerns Over National Security and Women’s Rights

By OBBM Network Editorial Staff

Derived from an episode of Securing America.

The recent Memorandum of Understanding with Iran has raised concerns over national security and women’s rights. Experts argue that the deal may snatch a strategic defeat from the jaws of a tactical victory, and that it could have far-reaching implications for the United States and its allies. The deal’s silence on ballistic missiles and its potential to legitimize Hezbollah as a legitimate combatant are among the key concerns.

National Security Implications

According to George Rasley, managing editor of Conservative HQ, the deal is a ‘huge strategic victory for the Iranians’ and could drive a wedge between the United States and Israel. Rasley argues that the deal’s failure to address ballistic missiles and its potential to legitimize Hezbollah could have significant implications for national security.

‘The MOU is completely silent on ballistic missiles, and 77% of voters would be concerned if Iran was allowed to keep its ballistic missile capability,’ Rasley said. ‘This deal could institutionalize Hezbollah as a legitimate combatant and a party to the agreement, or at least having Iran speak for them in this agreement.’

Women’s Rights Concerns

The deal has also raised concerns over women’s rights. Rasley has produced a series of briefings on the threat doctrine of jihadist enemies, including a presentation on Sharia versus women. The presentation highlights the ways in which Sharia law can be used to oppress women, including through child marriage and female genital mutilation.

‘Muhammad established the practice of child brides, and we now have this happening right here in America,’ Rasley said. ‘It’s documented in a clip I’ve got, and we have Muslim leaders defending it right here in America.’

Closing Synthesis

The Memorandum of Understanding with Iran has significant implications for national security and women’s rights. Experts argue that the deal could drive a wedge between the United States and Israel, and that it could legitimize Hezbollah as a legitimate combatant. The deal’s silence on ballistic missiles and its potential to institutionalize oppressive practices against women are among the key concerns. As the United States and its allies move forward, it is essential to consider these implications and to prioritize national security and human rights.
