The annual IndyFringe Festival is about choices, with 63 acts and over 300 performances across six venues this year. The festival features a range of shows, including drama, comedy, and Shakespeare.
Featured Shows
One show, “A New World”, asks what if Cass Elliot, the lead vocalist of The Mamas & the Papas, returned for a final concert with full knowledge of everything that happened after her death. Another show, “The Tempest: A Puppetry Play”, is a series of vignettes loosely based on Shakespeare’s final play.
Other shows include “Fast Food Femmes”, a wild ride through all the things you like to eat and some you don’t, and “A Bed of Thorns”, a gothic and sapphic spin on “Sleeping Beauty”. The festival also features a one-hour play that follows a young Black man navigating his sexuality and the death of his parents, and a one-person show that shares poetry, prose, and doctoral dissertation excerpts.
