An investigation is underway after the drowning death of a 1-year-old boy in Indiana, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
According to DNR, the body of the boy was recovered from a private pond in Greensburg, located about halfway between Cincinnati and Indianapolis, last Friday, July 17.
Indiana Conservation Officers Central Dispatch says shortly before 9 p.m., they were notified by Decatur County Central Dispatch that a juvenile had been found unconscious in the pond. A parent located the child unresponsive near a dock and initiated life-saving measures.
The 1-year-old was flown to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for further treatment. Thursday, the Hamilton County coroner reported that the child had died. The cause of death listed by the coroner’s office was drowning.
