The Indiana Republican Party State Convention starts today at the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne, bringing together approximately 1,800 delegates from all 92 counties.
Convention Highlights
One of the most closely watched contests will be the race for the Republican nomination for Secretary of State, with incumbent Secretary of State Diego Morales seeking the nomination against Knox County Clerk David Shelton, conservative activist Jamie Reitenour, and Max Engling, a senior adviser and regional director for U.S. Sen. Jim Banks.
Delegates will also consider party business, hear from elected officials and candidates, and participate in caucuses and meetings throughout the weekend before voting takes place.
Friday night’s activities will feature a keynote address from U.S. Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana, known nationally for his appearances on cable news and his often colorful commentary on national political issues.
