Idaho is set to welcome 15 new schools this fall, with a mix of traditional, charter, and virtual schools opening across the state. The new schools include elementary, K-8, and high schools, as well as specialized schools focusing on sports, classical education, and career technical education.

Traditional Schools

Three new district elementary schools and one K-8 school will open this fall. Willow Creek Elementary in Bonneville and Independence Elementary in West Ada were built to address growth and alleviate overcrowding in existing schools. Patriot STEM Academy in Nampa is a magnet school that will focus on math and science through project-based learning. Salmon Two Rivers K-8 School is a new school that replaces the old Pioneer Elementary and will serve students in the Salmon area.

Charter Schools

Seven new charter schools will open this fall, including two classical academies, Brabeion Academy, a sports-focused school, and Elevate Academy, a career technical education school. Trailhead Virtual Academy is a statewide virtual career-technical focused school that will serve students across Idaho.

Virtual Schools

Five virtual schools are set to open this fall, including Fruitland Virtual Academy, Summit Virtual, Fremont Online, West Jefferson Online, and Trailhead Virtual Academy. These schools will provide online options for students and will be housed in traditional districts or operate as charter schools.
