A substance found in the van of a man shot and killed by an ICE agent in Houston this month was not drugs, according to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a 52-year-old Mexican immigrant and longtime Texas resident, was shot during a traffic stop on July 7.
The FBI had filed a warrant application stating that an investigator found what was believed to be illegal substances in the vehicle after the shooting. However, testing has confirmed that the substance was not drugs.
