Operation Christmas Train Set Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children and families, has opened a permanent facility in Oklahoma City with the support of the community. The nonprofit provides clothing and other essentials to children in need, such as those who have lost their homes in a fire or are being cared for by grandparents while a parent is deployed.
Supporting Children Year-Round
The organization’s efforts extend beyond the holiday season, with a current focus on preparing children for the first day of school. “We gather school supplies, toiletries, toys, socks, underwear, snacks and anything we can do to help underprivileged kids within about 75 to 80 miles of Oklahoma City,” said Dustin Fisher, executive director of the Operation Christmas Train Set Foundation.
The new facility is located off Northwest 50th Street and Central Avenue, and the nonprofit is seeking volunteers and donations to continue its mission.
