A woman in Northern Virginia is speaking out after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent pointed a gun at her during a confrontation. Carolina Molina, a licensed professional counselor, had been driving in the Bailey’s Crossroads area when she encountered ICE officers making arrests.

Confrontation with ICE Agents

Molina, who provides psychological immigration evaluations, said she was in the area to drop off business cards at immigration offices. She admitted to being a “loudmouth” and exchanged profanities with one of the ICE agents, who she said replied with a profanity. Shortly after, she was blocked in by an ICE agent who got out of his vehicle with a gun pointed at her.

Molina explained that she started filming the interaction with her cell phone when the agent yelled at her, asking if she was following them. She said she felt her life was in danger and is now looking into her legal options. Molina also has additional footage of the incident that she is keeping private for now.

Response from Authorities

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) disputed Molina’s account of the confrontation, stating that she had been driving her car in circles around the ICE officers and attempted to harm them with her vehicle. The agency claimed that the ICE officers were conducting a targeted immigration enforcement operation and that Molina’s actions were a threat to their safety.

Virginia Rep. Don Beyer, who represents the 8th Congressional District, said his office has been in contact with Molina and plans to demand answers and consequences for the incident. Beyer called the incident an example of “habitual dishonesty and dangerous and unjustified escalation” by ICE agents.
