A crash on Interstate 95 in Newbury, Massachusetts, has closed the highway in both directions at Exit 81. Fire officials in Newbury reported that they were on the scene of the crash on the northbound side of the highway, just past Central Street. A medical helicopter was requested after the crash, which resulted in serious injuries.
A photo of the scene showed traffic backed up with a helicopter on the ground. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation confirmed that the highway was closed in both directions at Exit 81. No further information was immediately available.
