I-25 is closed in both directions at Montgomery Boulevard as crews work to demolish the existing bridge over the interstate. The closures will continue nightly until Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Detour Information
During the closures, northbound and southbound I-25 traffic is being detoured onto the Pan American Frontage Road at the Montgomery Boulevard off-ramps, over Montgomery Boulevard, and back onto the freeway via the Montgomery Boulevard on-ramps. Eastbound and westbound Montgomery Boulevard is also closed between Culture Drive and the northbound Pan American Frontage Road, with traffic detoured to Comanche Road through Carlisle Boulevard and Jefferson Street on the east side of I-25, and Culture Drive and Edith Boulevard on the west side.
The demolition is part of the I-25 Improved project, which aims to alleviate congestion in the area. The New Mexico Department of Transportation advises drivers to expect delays, plan ahead, and closely watch for detour signs.
