A man is dead following an apparent drowning off the coast of Nantasket Beach in Hull, Massachusetts, on Wednesday. Hull Fire Department crews responded in the evening to a report of an unresponsive man found floating in the water near Nantasket, the Plymouth District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday morning.
The man, later identified as 76-year-old Robert Nolan, of Hull, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday. Nolan’s body was then transported to the chief medical examiner’s office for an investigation.
No foul play is currently suspected in this incident, officials said. Massachusetts State Police haven’t commented, referring any questions to the DA’s office. There was a large police presence visible at the beach late Wednesday, with several officers holding flashlights and yellow police tape up.
