Horizon City Police Seize Loaded Handgun

On August 15, 2026, the Horizon City Police Department performed a traffic stop near Darrington Road and Thayer Pease Drive involving three juveniles.

Police investigation revealed that officers recovered a loaded semi-automatic rifle with 17 rounds of ammunition from one of the juveniles.

The minor in possession of the firearm was taken into custody for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Minor in Possession of Alcohol and was released to juvenile detention personnel.

According to officials, the other two juveniles were cited for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and released to responsible parties.
