With the high school football season just around the corner, the Alabama Sports Writers Association has released its preseason poll. Hoover and Spain Park are tied at No. 6 in Class 6A, each earning 71 points.
Preseason Rankings
The full Class 6A poll is as follows: Thompson is ranked No. 1 with 240 points, followed by Central-Phenix City with 167 points, and Auburn with 132 points. Vestavia Hills and Opelika round out the top 5.
Hoover went 6-5 last season, while Spain Park finished 9-3. Both schools are in Class 6A and are part of Region 3. The season is set to begin on August 20, with Hoover and Spain Park opening their seasons on August 21 against Muscle Shoals and Sparkman, respectively.
