Hoover Planning Commission to Review Eight New Residential Lots on Inverness Point Drive

The Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission is set to meet on Tuesday, September 8, at 5:30 p.m. for a work session followed by an action meeting at 6 p.m. in Hoover City Hall (100 Municipal Lane). The agenda’s headline item is a request from Acton Development Corp. to develop eight new residential lots on Inverness Point Drive.

Details of the proposed development

The 35.6‑acre parcel, owned by Acton Development Corp., is zoned E‑2, a single‑family estate district. According to the plans filed with the city, four of the proposed lots would directly abut the Cahaba River, offering potential river‑front homes while preserving the district’s estate‑type character.

Other items on the commission’s agenda

  • Approval of plans for a community center at 900 Concourse Parkway in the Riverchase Office Park.
  • Creation of four lots on property zoned “planned industrial” in Trace Crossings at the corner of Stadium Trace Parkway and Flemming Parkway, with access to Mineral Trace.
  • Preliminary approval of 91 residential lots and a common area in Phase 4D of the Everlee community off Alabama 150.
  • Requests to combine existing single‑family lots into larger parcels at 1853 Wisterwood Drive (Green Valley), 2136 Kent Way (Shades Mountain), and on Blackridge Circle.
  • A pre‑zoning request for 1526 Kestwick Drive off Chapel Road to an E‑2 single‑family estate district.

In addition to the planning commission, the Hoover School Board will hold public hearings on its proposed 2027 budget on the same day, with sessions at 7:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m., and an action meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Farr Administration Building (2810 Metropolitan Way).
