Gracie Jai Tellez, 20, and Robert Lee Ingram, 22, have been arrested in connection with the death of their 7-week-old daughter in Hollywood. The infant girl died of blunt force trauma, according to police.
Investigation Reveals False Statements
The parents initially gave false statements about using their phones as baby monitors, but an investigation revealed they were playing video games and watching YouTube instead. The arrest warrant states that the parents provided multiple false and inconsistent statements to law enforcement in an attempt to conceal the true circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
The warrant also states that the parents failed to provide proper care and supervision for their daughter, which led to her fatal injuries. The types of injuries the victim suffered are consistent with a violent impact and repeated acceleration/deceleration of the head/neck, according to the warrant.
