Hollywood Man Arrested in Online Predator Sting Operation

A Hollywood resident, Darrien Fleno, 34, was apprehended by police following an attempt to meet what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl for sexual activities. This encounter was part of a sting operation orchestrated by the New York Predhunters, an organization dedicated to exposing suspected predators online.

Details of the Incident

The arrest took place at a Family Dollar Store on South Federal Highway on October 17, 2025. According to the arrest report, Fleno had been communicating with an individual he believed to be a teenage girl through the Kik app. Initially, he was informed she was 17, soon to turn 18, but later admitted she revealed her age as 14 during their exchanges.

Despite suspecting a potential scam, Fleno continued the conversation, which included sending explicit photos and discussing plans to meet at a hotel. Upon arriving at the store, he was confronted by two men from the Predhunters group, who revealed there was no 14-year-old girl involved.

Legal Proceedings

Fleno faces charges of traveling to meet a minor after using a computer to lure them and transmitting harmful materials to a minor by electronic device. He is currently held in Broward jail with a bond set at $100,000.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by organizations like the New York Predhunters to safeguard minors by conducting online stings and collaborating with law enforcement to bring suspected offenders to justice.
