Janie Villarreal-McClinchey, owner of K-Retro Arts and community engagement specialist at Dream On Group, expressed her excitement about the building’s new chapter. ‘They were gonna demolish the building. And the fact that it was saved and it’s been converted into what it is now, a beautiful space,’ she said. The building’s transformation has not only preserved its historic charm but also provided a platform for local talent to thrive.

The month of April and March proved to be especially strong for the artisans inside Basila Frocks, with Fiesta shopping and San Antonio Spurs playoff excitement driving sales. The Spurs’ postseason run also presented a new challenge and opportunity for local crafters, who created Spurs merchandise by hand.
