High-Tech Sushi Bar Coming to Arlington

A high-tech, interactive dining experience is coming to Arlington in late 2026, featuring a sushi menu with over 100 different items. The new restaurant, Kura Sushi, will be located in Arlington Highlands and will mark the eighth Kura location in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

About Kura Sushi

Kura Sushi is a Japanese chain that was created in 1977 and expanded to the United States in 2008. The company is known for its tableside conveyor belt sushi delivery and large menu, which allows customers to try a variety of dishes and pay by the plate.

According to Robert Kluger, Kura Sushi chief development officer, the company has been looking for a location in Arlington that fits well with its existing restaurants in the area. Kluger stated that the demographics of Arlington, including its median age of roughly mid-30s, made it an attractive choice for the new location.

The conveyor system allows customers to try a variety of menu items, with prices averaging around $4 per plate. The restaurant will feature a modern, avant-garde interior and will be renovated from an existing building in Arlington Highlands at a cost of $1.5 million.

Construction is set to begin on July 20 and is expected to be completed by December 7. The company is currently awaiting permits from the city before breaking ground.
