CASPER, Wyo. – Another wave of heat has arrived for Natrona County and much of Wyoming as the weekend approaches, bringing elevated fire risk particularly for the northern and southern areas.
According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, high temperatures in Casper are expected to be near 100 degrees from Friday through Sunday. Skies will be sunny, but smoke drifting in from western wildfires will bring hazy conditions and decreased air quality.
Afternoon winds will be blustery at times, ranging from 21 mph to 33 mph on Sunday. Lows are expected to be in the mid to upper 50s.
Monday and Tuesday are expected to remain hot, with highs in the mid 90s likely. A modest cooldown is possible in the extended forecast, bringing a high of 90 by Wednesday, and 85 by Thursday.
