Kat Jamieson, a guest at the Château de la Messardière in Saint-Tropez, France, had an unexpected encounter with actor Laura Dern, who was filming a scene for the HBO series The White Lotus. Jamieson had purchased the same Missoni caftan Dern was wearing the day before at the hotel’s boutique.
Filming at the Château de la Messardière
The Château de la Messardière, a 19th-century palatial home turned resort, is serving as a principal filming location for the show’s fourth season. The resort, run by the exclusive French hotel company Airelles, is also open to guests, offering a unique experience for those who want to see the filming process up close.
Jamieson and her husband were able to observe the filming from their hotel room terrace and even walked through the set during breaks in filming. They did not notice any disruption to their stay, despite the filming taking place near the pool.
The White Lotus crew also filmed at Saint-Tropez’s Pampelonne Bay, known for its pristine golden sand and exclusive beach clubs. The show’s creator, Mike White, had previously stayed at the Hotel Negresco in Nice, France, and the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, a Four Seasons property, was also considered as a potential filming location.
