A hate crime investigation has been launched in Pasadena after a synagogue was vandalized with antisemitic messages and symbols. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department began the investigation after deputies responded to a report of vandalism at a place of worship on North Altadena Drive near Washington Boulevard.
The sheriff’s department did not identify which synagogue was vandalized, but the Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center is located on Altadena Drive. The department condemned the antisemitic vandalism, stating that hate crime has no place in the Pasadena and Altadena community.
Altadena Station Captain Ethan Marquez said, “We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation, holding those responsible accountable, and standing with our Jewish community, all faith communities and every resident against all forms of hatred and intolerance.”
