About 15 people gathered outside the Brown County Courthouse in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Wednesday night in support of a man shot by a Madison police officer earlier in the day. The Northeast Wisconsin chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America planned the gathering, billed as a candlelight vigil.

People at the gathering held signs reading, “They executed him,” and “He was somebody’s son!” Another sign read, “No more killer police.” Some people chanted “prosecute police” and “Hands up don’t shoot.” Others held candles.
Protests were also carried out in Madison after the shooting, leading to the cancellation of a concert near the state capitol.
