Springfield, Illinois – The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for two key events that aim to connect local businesses, showcase recent development, and provide insight into the economic climate.
“Chamber on Tap” at Kunes Toyota – November 12
Mike Murphy, CEO of the Greater Springfield Chamber, told WTAX Morning Newswatch that the Chamber’s popular evening series, “Chamber on Tap,” will be held on November 12 at Kunes Toyota. The dealership recently completed extensive renovations and reopened a few months ago under new ownership. Murphy highlighted the fresh look as a perfect reason for members and community members to visit, see the upgrades, and network.
Murphy also noted that Mylas Copeland, who runs Kunes Toyota and serves as the Chamber’s board chairman, expressed optimism about the future of both the dealership and the broader business community.
Economic Outlook Breakfast – November 17
The Chamber’s annual Economic Outlook Breakfast is scheduled for November 17. The event will feature Curtis Dubay, chief economist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who will travel from Washington, D.C., to share a national economic update.
Murphy said the breakfast is especially timely because business leaders continue to grapple with uncertainty. He recalled last year’s discussion on tariffs and noted that, according to Dubay’s forthcoming remarks, tariffs remain among the top three concerns for businesses today.
“I’m eager to hear what he says,” Murphy added. “Uncertainty is a challenge for every entrepreneur, and getting a clear picture of the policy landscape helps us plan for the future.”
Why These Events Matter
Both gatherings reflect the Chamber’s commitment to fostering a vibrant local economy rooted in traditional values and individual liberty. By providing venues for networking, education, and dialogue, the Chamber helps families and businesses stay informed and prepared for shifting market conditions.
Local entrepreneurs, civic leaders, and interested residents are encouraged to attend. For more details and registration information, visit the Greater Springfield Chamber’s website.
