It has been a banner spring for Grand Rapids-area high school athletes, with a remarkable wave of student-athletes earning all-state recognition in two of Michigan’s most popular spring sports.
Eighty-one girls soccer players from the Grand Rapids area were named to all-state teams in 2026, a testament to the depth and talent flourishing across local programs. The honor, among the most prestigious a high school athlete can receive in Michigan, reflects months of hard work on the pitch by players and their coaches.
The celebration of local athletic excellence doesn’t stop there. Eight Grand Rapids-area high school baseball players also earned all-state honors this spring, adding to a strong showing for the region’s diamond programs.
