Golf postseason kicks off in St. Louis and wraps up in Indiana

The PGA Tour’s postseason swings to the Midwest this week. The BMW Championship, the second FedEx Cup playoff event, will be contested at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri, from Thursday through Sunday. The course measures 7,448 yards with a par of 72, and the tournament carries a $20 million purse, with the winner slated to receive $3.6 million.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler enters as both the defending champion and the FedEx Cup points leader. Scheffler won the FedEx St. Jude Championship last week and now needs a strong finish to stay on track for the Tour Championship, where the FedEx Cup winner claims a $10 million prize. The field is limited to the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup standings, and the top 30 after this event will advance to the season‑ending Tour Championship.

Key storylines at Bellerive

  • Scheffler is just over $1 million shy of overtaking Tiger Woods on the career earnings list.
  • Sungjae Im secured the final spot in the top‑50, marking his eighth consecutive appearance at the BMW Championship.
  • Matt McCarty earned the last entry by a seven‑point margin over Keith Mitchell.
  • Seventeen competitors also played Bellerive during the 2018 PGA Championship, won by Brooks Koepka.

After the BMW Championship, the FedEx Cup will conclude with the Tour Championship, scheduled for next week.

LIV Golf’s season finale in Indiana

Meanwhile, LIV Golf’s final tournament of the season will be held at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Indiana. The event also offers a $20 million purse, with a $4 million winner’s share. Defending champion Sebastian Muñoz will look to retain his title, while Jon Rahm has already clinched the individual points championship for the third straight year.

The tournament will be broadcast on the Fox Sports app Thursday through Friday and on FOX television over the weekend. Because the Michigan team championship was canceled, the Indianapolis event will serve as both the individual and team championship. Teams such as 4Aces, Ripper, Crushers and Legion XIII are separated by just 13.5 points heading into the final team showdown.

Other notable golf events this week

On the LPGA side, the CPKC Women’s Open returns to Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton, Alberta, with a $2.75 million purse. Defending champion Brooke Henderson will defend her title as Nelly Korda leads the Race to the CME Globe.

In Europe, the DP World Tour’s Nexo Championship moves to Trump International Golf Club in Aberdeen, Scotland. The event features a $3 million purse and a $500,000 winner’s share. Grant Forrest is the defending champion, and Patrick Reed leads the Race to Dubai.

Canada’s senior circuit hosts the Rogers Charity Classic at Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club in Calgary, Alberta. Stewart Cink, the Charles Schwab Cup leader, is the defending champion and recently won the Boeing Classic.

On the Korn Ferry Tour, the AdventHealth Championship takes place at Blue Hills Country Club in Kansas City, Missouri. Ross Steelman, the points leader, will look to add another victory to his résumé.

These tournaments highlight the breadth of professional golf across North America and Europe as the season draws to a close, offering fans a mix of established stars and rising talent.
