A resurfacing project for Glenwood Avenue will begin Sunday night. Glenwood Avenue to Wade Avenue and Woman’s Club Drive will be impacted by this resurfacing project.
Project Details
N.C. Department of Transportation will begin the project Sunday night starting at Woman’s Club Drive. The road work will be done during the overnight hours of 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
The project will include milling, paving, and striping along the corridor and in the Five Points intersection. The Five Points intersection will be closed nightly from July 12 through July 15, pending weather and schedule changes. This will help to improve safety and speed up the construction in the intersection.
Drivers will be directed to a signed detour following Oberlin Road and Wade Avenue, adding about a mile for those traveling through this section. Motorists may also choose alternate routes based on their destination.
NCDOT encourages drivers to slow down while driving through work zones, follow posted signs and remain alert in work zones.
