Arizona Democrat Ruben Gallego, a potential 2028 presidential candidate, is facing scrutiny over his campaign spending. According to Federal Election Commission records, Gallego has used his campaign and PAC accounts to fund personal expenses, including Super Bowl tickets, Disneyland trips, and childcare costs.
Campaign Expenses
Gallego’s leadership PAC and campaign have covered nearly $1,500 for a Disneyland trip, over $9,000 for a Miami hotel stay, and another retreat at Disney World. He has also spent around $18,000 on childcare since 2019, including a $400 payment to his mother-in-law for babysitting.
Gallego insists that his expenses are above board, citing FEC regulations that allow campaigns to pay for travel and childcare as long as the spending isn’t for personal use. However, critics argue that Gallego’s spending raises questions about his judgment and accountability to his donors.
