A dusting of snow frosted the Tetons over the weekend, with Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer capturing the scene on Saturday morning.
Though rare, it’s not unheard of for higher elevations surrounding the valley to receive some frozen precipitation in June. Despite the warm summer temperatures experienced earlier in the month, June is still often viewed as an unpredictable weather month.
In June 2024, Buckrail meteorologist detailed snowfall in Jackson in June, but the snow did not accumulate. In both 2018 and 2019, snow was recorded in the mountains in June.
