Frisco Introduces Free Public Transportation

Frisco’s Rail District has introduced a new public transportation service called the Rail District Boxcar. The service is free and has 13 stops stretching from World Cup Way to North County Road between Main and Elm streets.

Service Details

The two cars can seat up to six people and operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. The vehicles run every 10 minutes, providing convenient access to downtown merchants.

The city council approved a $388,000 contract with Via Transportation to operate the pilot circulator service in the Rail District. The pilot program will run for 12 months, with an option to extend the service.

The transit fleet includes an Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible electric shuttle, and a five-passenger minivan is available on reserve for special events.
