Street Closures
Several streets in the area have already been closed for several days as crews prepare for the race, and many more streets will be closing through next weekend. A map of the affected streets can be found on the Washington, D.C. government website.
Attraction Impacts
The National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of the American Indian, and the National Museum of Natural History will have modified visitor access requirements from August 21 through August 23. Visitors on Saturday and Sunday will need a Grand Prix ticket to visit the museums.
On Friday, visitors won’t need a Grand Prix ticket, but they will need to enter the museum via the entrance closest to the nearest Grand Prix gate. More information can be found on the Smithsonian’s website.
Clear Bag Policy
The Freedom 250 will have a strict clear bag policy, with bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches allowed. Items such as purses, backpacks, coolers, briefcases, and luggage are not allowed in the event zone.
