Meals on Wheels Senior Services of Rockwall County invites family caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members to attend a free online educational program, “Why Does Dementia Sometimes Cause Hallucinations, Delusions, and Paranoia?”

The webinar will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. CDT on Wednesday, July 9, and is hosted by the WellMed Caregiver Teleconnection. The session will explore what dementia is and why it can sometimes cause hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, and delirium. Participants will also learn practical strategies for responding to these behaviors in ways that support both the person living with dementia and their caregivers.
The featured presenter is Lucy Barylak, MSW, who earned her master’s degree in social work from McGill University and has dedicated her career to supporting caregivers. She is a nationally recognized caregiver advocate, founder of a multiservice respite program for family caregivers, recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Award, and has published and presented extensively on caregiver support and education.
