The Fox Theatre in Atlanta has announced the launch of its year-round community engagement campaign, ‘Welcome to the Fox: Donde Late Tu Mundo,’ an initiative designed to further the Fox’s mission of preserving and sharing the historic theatre with all of the communities that make Atlanta so vivid and inspiring.
Community Engagement
The campaign features three documentary-style videos that portray Latino community members sharing, in their own words, what the Fox Theatre means to them. For example, Vanessa Ibarra and her siblings surprised their mother, Luz Marina, with a night at the Fox to see ‘The Nutcracker.’ Having grown up in Venezuela going to the ballet with her father, Luz Marina has a deep love for the theatre.
The Fox Theatre will also spotlight award-winning Latino artists and shows, including Latin Grammy-winning Chilean artist Mon Laferte, who will take the stage on August 2. Additionally, the Fox Theatre offers a bilingual version of Fox in a Box, an interactive school program that brings the theater’s history into classrooms in English and Spanish as part of the Fox Gives community outreach program.
Through the Fox’s All-Access Pass Program, high school students can explore all forms of work in the creative world of the performing arts, offering insights into career pathways in theater, music, dance, film, and arts management. The Fox Theatre also invites the community to experience a variety of special events and unique cultural offerings throughout the year, including guided tour experiences and yoga events.
