Four arrested after stolen‑vehicle chase on San Antonio’s Northwest Side

San Antonio police reported that a stolen vehicle was pursued on the Northwest Side early Monday morning, leading to the arrest of four suspects. The incident began around 11 a.m. when an SAPD officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the 6100 block of Northwest Loop 410, near Warpath Drive.

Police attempt to stop the vehicle

The officer initiated a traffic stop, but the driver veered across a median toward an access road and jumped a curb. In an effort to evade the officer, the suspect’s car suffered two flat tires, according to the SAPD preliminary report. The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen.

Suspects apprehended

After the vehicle came to a stop, the four occupants attempted to flee on foot. Officers pursued them and eventually located each suspect at separate locations. One of the individuals was identified as 18‑year‑old Joaquin Angel Alviso Delgado. Delgado was charged with evading arrest detention, a Class A misdemeanor, and was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The remaining three suspects were not named because they are juveniles, aged between 13 and 14 years old. Their identities are being protected under Texas juvenile confidentiality statutes.

Community impact and police response

Police emphasized that swift action prevented the stolen vehicle from endangering additional motorists on a busy arterial road. The pursuit and subsequent arrests demonstrate SAPD’s commitment to maintaining public safety on San Antonio’s Northwest Side, a corridor that sees significant commuter traffic.

Residents in the area expressed relief that the situation was resolved without serious injury. “We’re grateful the officers acted quickly and kept our neighborhoods safe,” said a local resident who asked to remain anonymous.

Legal process

Delgado’s misdemeanor charge carries a potential fine and possible jail time, but the case will proceed through the Bexar County court system. The juvenile suspects will be processed through the Texas Youth Commission, where they will face appropriate disciplinary measures while receiving services aimed at rehabilitation.

SAPD reminded the public that any suspicious activity, especially involving stolen vehicles, should be reported immediately to 911. The department continues to encourage community members to stay vigilant and cooperate with law‑enforcement efforts.
