Fort Worth’s Rattikin Title Co., one of the state’s oldest and largest title agencies, has been acquired by Stewart Title. The two companies announced the acquisition on Thursday. No price for the transaction was released.
Shared History
Rattikin Title Co. was founded by Jack Rattikin Sr. in 1944 after helping Stewart Title open title insurance branches around the state. The company has been a family-run business since its founding, with sons Jack Rattikin Jr. and Jack Rattikin III leading the business and assuming leadership roles in state and national title insurance organizations during their careers.
The acquisition will allow the companies to offer title insurance, escrow services, and settlement solutions for residential and commercial real estate across Texas. Stewart, founded in 1893, has primarily provided larger-scale, global real estate services.
“The addition of Rattikin Title to our family of companies brings strength to the Stewart operations in the fast-growing North Texas region,” said Fred Eppinger, Stewart CEO, in a news release. “The team’s exceptional group of highly experienced title professionals reflects its reputation for integrity and trust cultivated over many decades.”
In a joint statement, the Rattikin family said of the acquisition: “We are proud of the legacy that our family has built in title insurance over the past 82 years. Since the company’s founding, Rattikin has served as an industry leader throughout the state and nation, widely known and admired for our tradition of excellence. We are confident that the combination with the Stewart family of companies will greatly benefit our employees, customers, and local partners, and build upon the local tradition that has long defined our company.”
