Liberty Lounge, a bar in Fort Worth’s unofficial gayborhood, aims to create a sense of community and acceptance. Owner Jenna Hill wanted to maintain a space for people to congregate and connect.
The over 50-year-old building has a history of acceptance, with Hill’s uncle performing in drag there many years ago. Hill plans to keep the lounge operating as a safe space until it is no longer needed.
Liberty Lounge features a free library, social events, and a welcoming atmosphere. Hill believes that hate is a distraction and that people are better together.
