The Fort Worth Stockyards have become a popular destination for international tourists, with over 1.5 million visitors in the past 30 days. This surge in visitors is largely due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which has brought millions of people to North Texas.
International Visitors Flock to the Stockyards
Daniela Henao and her partner Sebastián Gutiérrez, from Colombia, were among the many international tourists who visited the Stockyards. They were impressed by the Western stores and historic buildings along East Exchange Avenue.
“Everything looks like a movie, literally,” Henao said. “I feel like a cowgirl here.”
The Stockyards have geared up efforts to draw international attention to its Western heritage through citywide “Howdy World” branding. Ethan Cartwright, senior vice president of marketing for Stockyards Heritage Development, said that the area has seen a significant increase in visitors from around the world.
“Long before stadiums and global broadcasts, this area was defined by the Chisholm Trail, a place where paths crossed and people from all walks of life found common ground,” he said. “Seeing international sports fans fill the historic Stockyards feels like the natural continuation of that story.”
Other international visitors, such as Karoline Machago from Brazil and Frank Wang from Singapore, also visited the Stockyards and enjoyed the Western scenes and activities, including the rodeo and longhorn cattle parade.
