Traffic relief is on the horizon for far north Fort Worth motorists as construction is expected to start in January 2027 to widen WJ Boaz Road, a vital east-west two-lane artery in a booming area near Eagle Mountain Lake.
Project Details
The $27.3 million project will expand WJ Boaz Road to four lanes, city officials said. The work will improve about 10,200 square feet of the road with new pavement, drainage, traffic signals, and streetlights, as well as include water and sewer upgrades.
Construction will also improve roundabouts at Bowman Roberts Road, including new sidewalks and accessibility ramps, as well as improvements to ditches and a drainage culvert beneath the pavement.
Funding for the road improvements includes $12.3 million from the 2022 bond election, $10.7 million from Tarrant County’s 2021 transportation bond, and $4.3 million from other funding sources.
