A deadly shooting occurred in Fort Pierce on July 5, resulting in the death of a 28-year-old man. The Fort Pierce Police Department responded to the 300 block of South 14th Street at 3:43 a.m. and found two adults, a man and a woman, with apparent gunshot wounds.
The 28-year-old woman sustained a non-life-threatening injury to her hand, while the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital. He later died from his injuries.
An initial investigation revealed that the victims were involved in an earlier altercation at the 5800 block of Okeechobee Road before returning to their residence. As they arrived home, a man not believed to be involved in the altercation approached them and fired a weapon before leaving the area.
